Pantone and Australian Blue Sapphires are Perfect Together

Color and fashion go hand in hand, and the Pantone Color Institute makes sure that fashionistas know exactly what to call the hues used to inspire the attire they wear.

At the start of each New York Fashion Week, held twice a year in September and February, Pantone unveils 10 colors trending for the season ahead based on fashion designers’ collection choices. These colors influence what the world sees in new clothing, accessories, and home décor, and inspire and guide new purchases for many. Not surprisingly, blue is nearly always present in designers’ selections, and for spring 2017, there are several blue options. Here are three Pantone blues and how to wear them with Australian blue sapphires.

Called a “refreshing aqua” and “a cool blue-green shade,” Island Paradise brings to mind thoughts of tropical island escapes. Keep the cool vibe going by pairing a white gold and Australian blue sapphire jewel with your Island Paradise-color outfit.

This “classic denim-like blue” may not be super sexy—Pantone admittedly calls Niagra “comfortable and dependable” (like sensible shoes)—but it’s the most widely used color in spring 2017 lines. Add some edge to this reliable blue by wearing a dramatic silhouette—like stiletto-drop style earrings with Australian blue sapphires—with Niagra ensembles.

Want a bolder choice? Go for Lapis, a strong “intense blue shade” that exudes vivacity and confidence, says Pantone. This is a color we can celebrate! Let this mighty lapis blue shade pop against a yellow gold and Australian blue sapphire jewel.
